Our Beliefs

Growing Beliefs, Qualities and Practices of the Riverside County Church of Christ

Who is the Riverside County Church of Christ?

We are a non-denominational Christian Church that does not recognize any central governing body of human authorities, human creeds, proposals, or agreements that are not required by Scripture and that exclude other followers of Christ from fellowship. We believe that the Holy Bible which is comprised of Old and New Testaments is inspired by God’s Holy Spirit and is all that is required by God to lead us in our journey here on earth as we set our hearts and minds on things above where Christ is seated at the right hand of God

Why does the Riverside County Church of Christ exist?

We exist to help each other, and family and friends to live in intimate relationship with God.

How do we help each other do this?

We accept, encourage, and urge one another to live in intimate relationship with God by growing in the following Biblical Beliefs, Qualities, and Practices.

Biblical Beliefs

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons:
God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

The Bible (Old and New Testament) is the inspired Word of God, and therefore the final and only authority in our understanding of God, life, and death

God created human beings in His image for the purpose of living in an intimate relationship with Him. Through our sin, though, we are separated from intimate relationship with God

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to offer His righteous life as payment for our sin. Salvation is a free gift of God received through faith and expressed through confession, repentance, and baptism

God not only wants to save us, He wants to transform us into the image of His Son. Transformation is initiated by salvation, sustained by God’s grace, and continually develops as our will is brought into ever-increasing alignment with God’s will.
The church is the body of Christ on earth, purchased with His blood, and empowered by the Holy Spirit to love one another as Christ loves us and to reach those separated from God and to mature those who have been restored to Him through Christ
Christ died on the cross and God raised His physical body back to life as promised in Scripture. Jesus came to save us from sin and sin’s consequence which is death.Christ bodily rose from death and all who follow Him will also be bodily raised from death on the last day.
Christ will return one day, all will be bodily resurrected, final judgment will be rendered, the image of God will be completely restored within His children, and we will reign with Christ forever.
